Week 11 of Pregnancy – Pregnancy Signs and Symptoms
Welcome to your Guide to Pregnancy – Week 11.
Your baby at 11 weeks is 2 inches long and weighing in a whopping ¼ ounce! You could hold your little one in the palm of your hand at this point! Her little body is beginning to straighten out. Though it will be a few more weeks until the gender can be detected, if your baby is a girl her ovaries are beginning to develop.
Your baby now has human characteristics including toes and fingers that are no longer webbed. The skin is now paper-thin and transparent but over the next months will add layers and fat.
Over the next month your baby will triple in size! At no other point in your child’s life will they experience such tremendous growth, not only in size but developmentally.
All of your baby’s organs have formed and are functioning. The average heart rate for an 11 week old fetus is 168 beats per minute.
If you have had children before you may be beginning to show. However, as frustrating as it may be to most women, onlookers still may not be able to detect your pregnancy. Your bump may not be visible quite yet, you probably are feeling quite pregnant. If you are plagued with morning sickness and fatigue, know that most of the tough symptoms that come with the first trimester of pregnancy will typically phase out in the next month or so and you will start to feel incredibly better!
